Ever since I saw your drawings of the Feanorians I have never been able to imagine them any other way, however your depiction of Maedhros, and this one in particular, is breathtaking. He is absolutely beautiful, without falling into femininity, and there is an agelessness to his face and expression that I haven't seen captured before.
This is lovely. The way you've used the mediums, the subject, the feeling of it... it is a lovely, deceptively simple, piece. Something makes one look at it again and again. The eyes are lovely - I think the smoothness and detail of the face is further enhanced by the less clean lines of the cloak, creating a gorgeous whole.
WOW, he looks so young and handsome ! I love his delicate, yet not effeminate features, and his red hair is just GORGEOUS. I'm faving ! And I'm definitely going to check out the rest of your gallery, you seem to have a lot of beautiful Tolkien-related art there.
I love this! It's just how I imagine Maedhros looking. I especially like the thoughtful expression you gave him. Most pictures of him involve either torment or battle, which are both part of his character, but...he's also a skilled tactician, a practiced leader, and above all a diplomat. Whatever horrible things he did, he still inspired enough love and loyalty to pull off the (ill-fated) Union of Maedhros, healing the feud between the followers of Feanor and Fingolfin, not to mention keeping his six unruly younger siblings in line for centuries...I think this picture really captures that personality well. Lol, sorry for writing you a book....
